Hotels in Antigua
Holidays to Antigua mean sun, sea and sand, and the beaches on this island paradise are postcard-perfect. There's a stretch of sand to suit everyone; romantic couples will love the secluded patch along the southwest coast, or the scenic beaches of Long Bay. Those in search of livelier holidays in Antigua should take a trip to the vibrant hub of Dickenson Bay, where the party moves on to the beach when the sun sets.
Holidays in Antigua come with nightlife guaranteed - with their laid back lifestyle; the Caribbeans know how to have a good time, so you're in for a party. Most hotels put on evening entertainment, but to really party Caribbean style head to the beach bars in the main resorts for live calypso bands, and sway to the beat of a steel drum, cocktail in hand. Head to Antigua in the first week of August, and you're in for a tropical treat, as the whole island comes alive with parades and parties for the Carnival Festival.
If you get bored of the beach, step off your sun-lounger and spend your days exploring the breathtaking scenery on the rest of the island. Antigua holidays are ideal for active holidaymakers; with excellent sailing in English Harbour, and hiking paths leading to the foothills of Shirley Heights, for inspiring natural scenery and dramatic cliff top views. If you can't quite face the trek down, spend a Sunday afternoon watching local reggae bands as the sun sets - a totally tropical end to your holiday in Antigua.
