About Bahamas
The Bahamas bring to mind white shores, turquoise sea and a really friendly welcome. With more than 700 islands and 2500 cays, the main resorts offer refined Caribbean taste with casinos, luxury yachts, fine dining and golf courses. Colourful clapboard houses contrast with colonial charm and outside the towns, you will find fishing wharves full of character, spectacular coral reefs and an easy pace of life.
Guide to Bahamas
Beaches
Miles of white and pink sand and clear water surround this beautiful archipelago; Cable Beach’s infinite sandy stretch and Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island are among the finest.

Local tastes
Seafood is king here with conch as the main speciality, prepared minced, marinated, grilled or fried in batter. Lobster, crab, grouper and snapper are regular menu features, usually served with fried plantains, pumpkin and sweet potato. Rice and red beans is a regular accompaniment.
