Jordan Travel Notes

When to go: Jordan is an all year round destination. Jordan is warm during winter (January-February) with chilly evenings, and extremely hot in summer (June-August).
Language: Arabic, English is spoken and understood, in hotels and resorts.
GMT: +3 hrs.
Currency: Jordanian Dinar
Dates for the diary: Ramadan: (approx) 11 Aug - 9 Sep 2010 & 01 - 29 Aug 2011. Jordan is a country of Muslim faith and therefore observes the tradition of fasting during daylight hours through the Holy Month of Ramadan. Alcohol restrictions may apply at hotels and, as a sign of respect, visitors are asked to refrain from eating, drinking and smoking in public places during daytime.
Tourist/Visa/Health information: You need a valid passport to enter Jordan and it should have at least 6 months' validity remaining. British Passport holders require a Visa purchased upon arrival. It is advisable that all immunisations and boosters recommended for travel to Jordan are up to date. For full details contact your GP.
Flight information: BMI offer a direct service from London Heathrow to Amman. Regional departures from the UK are also available with BMI via London Heathrow.
