Our Travellers Guide

Beaches in South Africa
Another winner for glorious white sands, with 2800km of sensational coastline, South Africa literally has some of the best beaches in the world. For starters try Camps Bay on the Western Cape and Clifton on the Atlantic Seaboard. The choice of holidays is overwhelming.

Sports
Without a shadow of a doubt, this has to be one of the best sporting holiday destinations in the world. If you love to love sports, you’ll love South Africa with cricket, rugby, diving, hiking, rock climbing, rafting, surfing, sailing and much, much more.

Local tastes
Don't leave South Africa without sampling a good old barbecue, locally known as a braai, served up with spicy Boerewors, farmer sausages, washed down with a bottle or two from South Africa’s famous winelands. You will also find a mixture of international and traditional Cape Malay dishes served in many restaurants and hotels.

Evening flavour
Many of the bigger cities in South Africa have trendy nightspots with balcony restaurants and alfresco dining. The music scene here is as diverse as its people; expect to hear everything from Jazz, Hip Hop, traditional Zulu music and Kwaito, South Africa’s own form of pop music.

Best buys
South Africa’s cultural diversity lends itself to having a wide selection of international designer goods and locally produced products. Good buys include rural crafts such as animal carvings and Zulu beadwork, sold in city malls and markets as well as by passing street vendors.

Live the Experience
Track the ‘Big Five’ in Kruger National Park. Watch breathtaking sunsets over Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Travel through South Africa’s lush valleys and vast winelands, and visit the cosmopolitan metropolis of Johannesburg.
