Day 1
Transfer to the Serena Mountain Village for overnight stay.
Day 2
Morning nature walk around Lake Duluti before lunch then continuing onto the Masai Steppe filled with African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. Onwards to the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara. Overnight in the Lake Manyara Serena (B,L,D).
Day 3
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park before driving to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the vast plains of the Serengeti. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 4
Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Overnight in the Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 5
Depart for Ngorongoro, viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off at Olduvai Gorge en-route. The Gorge is about 50km long and in places around 90m deep. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 6
Descend through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes with fantastic wildlife. Afternoon excursion to a traditional Masai village. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 7
Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head southeast to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. Enjoy a game drive en-route to the lodge followed by an afternoon game drive after lunch. Overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 8
Afternoon departure to Arusha by road (B,L).
